How To Do - Job Interview Dresscode

So this is my way of dressing smart for an interview. If you want to impress your potential boss with a sensible, suited outfit, still want to show your fashion sense within it and save money and not spend your future spring clothes savings, then keep reading gals..

I bought this gorgeous grey blazer (in the above heading photo) from primark for £15, i absolutely love it because the colour isnt as dark as what people would usually wear and the detail on the cuffs is a lovely stripey pattern! perfect for any interview!
Blazer - Primark £15
I love these slim cut, skinny pants! Their so comfortable and clearly gorgeous, they don't leave you with an awful boot cut at the bottom which will cover your lovely flats for the interview. They also have a black leather strip going down each side of the leg which i love because they can be worn on so many other occasions rather than just formal, suited occasions. These were also very cheap as i bought them when i had a little bit of a Primark Haul..
Skinny, slim cut trousers - Primark £15
I absolutely adore this little number. This blouse is also a bargain from Primark! The pokadots give a lush look but also looks very sophisticated. I also obviously love the shoulders, poofy is the way forward for these gorgeous blouses. It also has a gorgeous detailed back at the top of the neck with a lovely bow shape cut out.
pokadot blouse - Primark £9
Moving onto my bag! i LOVE this bag. It gave a very plain colored outfit that pop of color it needed to show my sense in fashion. i love leopard and purple at the moment so this pattern and color is the PERFECT combo in my opinion! It is also quite vintage like as the strap doesn't adjust and when on the shoulder i would say is very short, it comes to just above your hip i would say, it also has a lovely little hand so you could carry it on your wrist which also looks so cute.
New Look - this was a christmas gift but i'd guess it was around £25-30
For shoes i wore my classic, flat, black suede booties. I love these. i wear them almost every day because they simply go with EVERYTHING! they have a brown shaded sole and 2 cute little buckles at the side, i also love the black suede because it makes them much more fashionable rather than a plain leather bootie (although you can never go wrong being plain jane sometimes haha)!
TopShop - not sold anymore
Moving onto accessories. I did want to keep my accessories very limited as it doesn't look to professional in my opinion if you're chained up by the neck with massive necklaces. I wanted a Michael Kors watch for Christmas but i decided they are to expensive and for the price that i am willing to pay in the future for a watch, i want a much better quality than MK, although i am not knocking the brand, it is gorgeous..i just would prefer something a little better for the price of them.
So instead i asked for a mock version from River Island, i love this one because of the black, im a black fanatic and think black on black is fine as long as you're doing it right! Also if you havent noticed i am a massive lover of gold!
River Island - £29.99
I also wore my cute little Pandora ring, in Opal (october)..I showed yous all this in my "What Santa Bought Me" post. I love this cute ring because of its simplicity and sophistication!
Pandora Ring - Pandora Shop £40
I chose not to wear a necklace as i thought the watch mixed with pokadots was definitely enough!
Keep your makeup at a minimum with no vibrant or 'in your face' shades on lids or lips, straight plain hair is also perfect, no messing about just nice and simple. Keep smiling and keep positive girls x

Hope these tips have helped you and if you are looking for a job (like me) good look!

How to Do - cookie&nutella milkshake

how to do a lovely cookie and Nutella milkshake! This is my favourite milkshake to make and drink everrrrr, I love love love it!!

You will need - A blender
                       Jar of Nutella chocolate
                        1 packet of cookies
                        tub of vanilla Ice cream
                        Skimmed milk

Firstly add 4 scoops of ice cream into the blender then add 2 table spoons of Nutella. Blend these together.
Then add around a pint of milk (or a little more if you prefer it thinner) and add half a packet of cookies.
Blend all of these lovely ingredients together and when you have it the way you want it, pour it into a lovely glass!
I was doing this quickly but how I love to finish this off is to add a lovely spripey straw and pour the mixture into a bright blue plastic funky cup :-)

Enjoy this delicious treat!!

Word For Word - today's Makeup

I loved my makeup yesterday! I also love this tshirt from River Island and I'll show it in a post very soon! I wanted a dark but sheek look so thought I'd do a natural eye shadow with a dark lip! this look works so well in winter because of the purple! This dark purple has been my favourite winter colour this season :-)

After cleansing, toning and moisturizing my face, I applied with my finger tips some Mac Prep and Prime (primer) all over my face.
I then moved on to foundation. Using my buffing brush, working from the bottoms of my face towards the top, I went in circular motions and applied my Mac Studio Sculpt. this foundation, using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush, gives you a full coverage finish and is effortlessly flawless.
Moving onto cocealer and highlighting, I used my Real Techniques Pointed Foundation Brush to apply my Mac Cream Conclear (NW15) under my eyes, on the brow bone and downwards on my nose and then applied it to cover up some blemishes and redness on my cheeks and forehead. this concealer not only conceals break outs but works as an excellent day to day highlighter on the centre of my face (where sun would naturally hit).
I wasn't going to use powder but wanted to set in my foundation so I used my Mac Studio Fix Compact Powder, I used a regular powder brush from boots. I applied this in the places where I wouldn't want to look shiney or oily (forehead, chin and temples).
my eyebrows actually don't take that much effort, I used my Mac Eyebrow Horizontal Brush with my Ruby&Miller Combo Shadow&Cream. this little duo palette is fabulous and so handy, I apply the transparent cream to my eye brows first then afterwards I apply the brown shadow. The cream helps it set and makes sure that all the brown powder stays locked in your eyebrows for much longer! Also gives a more natural brow which I am loving latley!
I then used my Real Techniques Contour Brush to define my cheek bones using my Benefit Bronzer. I applied this on my cheek bones, Upper forehead, around the outer corners of my face and a little on my neck using my powder brush.
My eyeshadow was actually quite simple. Using a Ted Baker crease brush, I applied Mac Woodwick eye shadow (Veluxe pearl finish) in my crease and outer corner of my eye. I blended it with my finger tips. I then sweeped a tiny bit of Mac Pigmet Powder in Natural over the top to add some extra pearly goodness.
I finished my eyes by doing a nice flick of liquid black eyeliner and some mascara.
I used my Ted Baker Lip Brush to apply my lipstick with a touch of Lip balm on the brush. This lipstick is Deep Purple from topshop!

And there you go.. A short and sweet word for word tutorial on how to achieve this more or less effortless dark sheek makeup!

Xoxo

Outfit Description Time -

Boxing day
This was my outfit for boxing day and i still LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
i wanted something not too dressy but definitly sleek and sophisticated.
This shorts and shirt combo is a must in every girls wardrobe.
Finish this look with a pair of strapped ankle heals and a clutch bag with a gold spike necklace.
Shirt - River Island £30.00
Shorts - River Island £19.00
Heals - New Look - £25.99
Necklace - River Island £9.99
Watch - New look £25.00

Next is my Day to Day casual option.
I love mixing together girly and masculine, this is the perfect way to do so. Get a girly outfit and stir things up with your favorite pair of trainers, in my opinion Nike Air Max are a perfect way to achieve this. With this outfit i chose a tear drop fluffy cropped jumper with some high wasted, light, skinny jeans. I mixed things up by wearing my liberty print air max and a gold spike necklace.
Finish with a vibrant lip colour and a soft eye shadow with a touch of pink blush.
Tear Drop cropped Jumper - Primark £10.00
High wasted skinny jeans - Topshop £39.99
Liberty Print Limited Edition Nike Air Max - Office Shoes £120.00
Gold Spike Necklace - River Island £15.00
Lips - Mac Lasting Sensation Lip Liner £12

Jim Jams
I wore these jim jams on christmas eve and let me just say these are so comfy!!
I love how these look slightly dated and chavy but yet this vibrant pink stands out so much to me lately, i love this colour. Don't be fooled by this Jumper and Joggers combo, these jim jams are very light and roomy.. they keep you warm but not uncomfortably warm!
Top - River Island £20
Bottoms - River Island £25

Night Out In Newcastle
This is a favorite outfit that i have previously worn for a girly night out in the toon!
I have some very short shorts under there but they are basically just encase some wind blows my way and everyone gets a view they didn't bargain for haha!
This shirt is gorgeous and i love how you can button it at the top and wear a lush gold necklace around the collar. I love this clutch bag because it doesn't have to sit under my arm all night not getting any glory, it sits on my arm nicely with a lovely gold chain to match the gold on the front of the bag. Finish this look with a black colour nail and some comfy casual bootie flats.
Shirt - New Look £20.00
Clutch - Very.co.uk £25.00
Necklace - Topshop £19.99
Booties - Topshop £40.00
 Casual Winter Warm
I love this outfit but unfortunately this photo doesn't give this outfit any justice. Those are actually tartan leggings and i love them, their comfy and gorgeous! I love this winter warm look because i was staying indoors but fancied wearing my favorite wooly hat! I used to wear that necklace almost every single day, i love the eagle and how heavy the chain is!
Wooly Hat - H&M £9.99
Eagle Necklace - New Look £12.99
Denim Shirt - H&M £10.99
Cross vest - Topshop £20.00
Tartan Leggings - Primark £9.99
Ok so this is one of my favorite outfits EVER!!!
New Years Eve Jumpsuit and Wedge
This Jumpsuit is gorgeous and clearly a fabulous outfit for a New Years Eve Night out! obviously in the party holiday season, glitter was a must and velvet is all in! this black velvet is so sleek, soft and fits my curves amazing! the glitter is all hand crafted and yes it does shed a little but who doesn't like a little glitter in the mix of a party ;)
The gold necklace just set off this look. Careful not to mix to much bling with this jumpsuit as it already screams dramatic.. a nice plain pair of black wedges makes this outfit complete. Finish with a black clutch bag with gold detail.
Jumpsuit - Topshop £49.99
Wedges - Primark £15.00
Gold Chain - TopShop £15.99

So there you go, some of my faves in my wardrobe and jim jam draw..

Did You Know - Dogs Originate From Wolves

My first post on something science! I thought i would do a friendly one, not too complicated, but still something i find extremely interesting!

Everyone knows (or should know) that dogs have similar characteristics to wolves.
So, how does a poodle originate to a feisty wolf, you say?
In order for Evolution to occur it needs a MASSSSSOOOOVE time scale, and when i talk massive i am not talking days or weeks or months.. im talking thousands, millions even billions of years.
Ill put this in a very simple form thats easy to understand.. When people breed, they would breed the type of dog which meets the characteristics and genes to which they want. That is basically what happened with wolves. Over time breeders would only breed the pups that had the best looks normally, after domesticating the wolves, the baby pups would have the same genes as its parents but sometimes through random selection, part of its DNA would be different and then when they reproduce, their pups would have the same different type of DNA. This means that over time when these domesticated wolves had pups, breeders kept on breeding the different pups with the random selection, with other pups that have had random selection in their DNA.

So really.. if it wasn't for us humans many many years ago, we wouldn't have these cute little pups as our household bestfriends.

My cute little baby, Trudi xoxo

How To Do - Winter meets sleek

Every girl has that ordeal of trying to keep walm in winter but not looking like an escimo. Here is the perfect and effective way.
Start off by getting a Heavy coat, nothing bulky and nothing fluffy, just a simple heavy fabric coat, try getting one with a heavy hood so when you're not wearing your favorite wooly hate, you can pull over your hood to cover your ears.
Now when you're in a cheap clothing store, literally pick up the nearest pair of jeggings. i know what you're thinking, jeggings? but honestly, jeans are a no no in winter, they rub against your skin and can cause rashes. Jeggings will be comfortable and make sure their thick, You can even grab a pair of Jack Wills Jeggings, The Jack Wills jeggings have a fluffy inner coat and yet you cant even tell on the outside, their so cosy and yet gorgeous!
Now grab your must have Chelsea Boots.. Chelsea boots not only look great but with that tiny heal they also keep your muscles warmed up by walking with a tiny heal. They really do keep you warmer and keep your muscles working whilst you're walking.
Add your favorite Scarf  and a gold watch to finish off this winter look.

xoxo

Some Things Santa Bought Me

One of my favorite prezzies santa bought me was this fabulous dramatically different moisturizing gel..This moisturizer is amazing. it makes my skin feel instantly hydrated and healthy. The only problem would be if you have are an oily skin type, this would not be the moisturizer for you. I am a combination skin so im not too oily but also not to dry.. yes this moisturizer does give me a shine but because i use a heavy foundation this helps me keep a natural finish. i definitely recommend it.

This cute little skincare benefit set is so adorable yet so useful. Within this set you get an eye cream, a moisturizer, a face polish, face toner, face wash and multi purpose face wash. The eye cream is the most useful within this set in my opinion, it is seriously effective, i even find it just as covering as my concealer..it instantly gets rid of dark circles around your eyes and makes you look rejuvenated instantly. The moisturizer is the cream i use the least but when i try it i definitely will try to review it! The face polish i use in the shower every other day, its so good i will definitely be invest in the real deal very soon! The face toner i again don't use that much, i already have a simple yet effective Olay toner so i don't have time to try others encase i get break outs (my skin is so sensitive). Now..the face wash i find amazing, it makes my skin instantly refreshed and smooth, i absolutely love this face wash! The multi purpose face wash i haven't used just yet so i will do a review very soon!

This Clean Cotton Yankee Candle is beautiful. I got the biggest one Yankee does and it certainly lasts! i LOVE candles, not only the smell, but i just love how they add that little bit of cosy into any room. I love lighting this candle after a long day and sit and unwind to the fresh smell of cotton. its like when you wash your clothes and they smell so fresh and you want to sit and smell your freshly clean clothes for hours..well now there's a candle to fulfill that exact need!

This little Pandora Ring is so cute! Its silver has a rough shade of grey in between every engraving. The stone is Opal, for October. I love this ring because its personal, I've never had my birthstone in any piece of jewellery and have always wanted something like this! I absolutely love it and because im lucky to have such a pretty birth stone, the colour is perfect!

Now... these are my FAVORITE pair of shoes i have ever gotten, Liberty Print Air max.
Don't get me wrong, these type of trainers aren't every ones cup of tea but i am the type of girl who likes to wear a smart cute outfit and then 'chav' it up with a pair of trainers. I could of bought a pair of gorgeous KG's for the price of these Air Max but honestly? i would seriously prefer these. The pink adds a touch of girl into what most people class as masculine.

Now for one of my definite favorites.. A Mac voucher worth £100. It came in a lovely gold envelope and trust me, every time something mac touches my fingers it feels like pure gold anyways. So i did get the usual such as my Prep and Prime (primer), my Studio Sculpt foundation in NW20 (i already have an NW15 so i wanted one for when i have a touch of tan on), and obviously i got my Cream Concealer in NW15.. but here is a few things i hadnt tried or bought before.
I had heard SO many good things about the Mac WoodWinked eye shadow..And i must say it 100% lives up to all of its expectations. It has a Veluxe pearl finish and the thing that i love so much about this eyeshadow is the slight shimmer, not to much but not to little. I also love how this is blend-able and kind of has 2 shades within 1. When i apply this to the crease it stays a its gorgeous golden brown colour but when i blend some of it onto the lid it goes a shade lighter, I am not sure if this is just me talking crazy but that is what happens with me haha.
I also got this Mac Lasting Sensation Lip liner. I don't actually use this as a lip liner as such, i do apply it around the shape of my lips and maybe add a little shape to my lips but then i take my ted baker lip brush and blend it in on my full upper and lower lip. It goes on matte and actually looks gorgeous, Its finish colour is a peachy red colour but its incredibly subtle and light. You can also add some gloss for a night out and you have the perfect kissing lips.
I have only ever bought one other Mac Powder and that was the Mac loose powder. I did like the other powder but it was almost as though the finish result was a little too plastic. Now THIS powder is amazing! This Mac Studio Fix Compact Powder gives you a flawless finish but still doesn't make you look too fake, i apply this with an average (cheap) powder brush because i stupidly didn't realise the other compartment with a sponge in until yesterday hahaha!! I still apply it with the brush but when im out and on the go, the little sponge is essential to 'powder my nose'.

So there you have it.. only a few things santa bought me and i am appreciative of every single one. Thankyou if you have read this post :-) still trying to get the hang of this whole blog things so bare with me, its all a tad confusing oh em gee haha!

xoxo
